IRVINE, Calif. – Michael Wilder's 3-point basket with 8.7 seconds left in the game gave UC Irvine a 62-60 victory over UC Santa Barbara on Saturday night.
UC Irvine (12-11, 6-4 Big West) got balanced scoring, led by 12 points from Alex Young and 10 points from Chris McNealy.
Will Davis II and Adam Folker provided a lift at the defensive end with three blocked shots and three steals, respectively.
Alan Williams led UC Santa Barbara (7-14, 3-7) with 22 points. He also had eight rebounds and three steals.
Kyle Boswell chipped in with 15 points and Michael Bryson had 12.
UC Irvine had a 17-6 edge in points off turnovers and 13-8 margin in second-chance points.
