Omar Strong hit nine 3-pointers and scored 33 points, leading Texas Southern to an 84-48 victory over Prairie View on Saturday night.

Strong was 9 of 13 from beyond the arc, 10 for 17 overall and 4 for 5 at the free-throw line for his third 30-point game of the season. He had 39 in an 85-80 double-overtime loss to Colorado and 33 in a 83-68 loss to Akron.

Fred Sturdivant added 15 points and Madarious Gibbs had 10 for the Tigers (9-14, 8-2 Southwestern Athletic), who have won four straight and eight of their last nine games.

Texas Southern was 14 for 26 beyond the arc and shot 56 percent overall.

Demondre Chapman scored 13 points and Carl Blair had 10 for Prairie View (9-14, 4-6). The Panthers shot just 25 percent overall and were 2 of 9 on 3-point attempts and 10 of 18 at the free-throw line.
