Stephon Carter had 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting and Cal State Bakersfield cruised past Utah Valley 75-62.
Corey Hall had 10 points and six rebounds for Cal State Bakersfield (8-14), which shot 52.2 percent from the field, making 24 of 46 attempts including eight 3-pointers. Brandon Barnes added 10 points and eight rebounds while teammate Javante Maynor chipped in with 10.
Nick Thompson's lay-up with 5:57 remaining in the game would cut Cal State Bakersfield's lead to five, 57-52, but the Wolverines wouldn't get any closer after the Roadrunners went on an 18-10 run the rest of the way.
Thompson ended his night with 14 points and seven rebounds.
Ben Aird scored 15 points to lead Utah Valley (10-13), which shot only 43.4 percent from the field but hit 12 of 15 from the free-throw line. Holton Hunsaker added 12 points and six assists.
