Viktor Troicki and Nenad Zimonjic lifted Serbia to a first-round Davis Cup victory over Belgium with a doubles triumph Saturday.
Troicki and Zimonjic earned a 6-4, 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 win over the Belgian tandem of Ruben Bemelmans and Steve Darcis to give Serbia an insurmountable 3-0 lead in the best-of-five tie.
The Serbs had opened a 2-0 advantage on Friday after Troicki battled back from an 0-2 deficit to beat David Goffin and Novak Djokovic cruised past Olivier Rochus in straight sets.
There's a good chance the top-ranked Djokovic, coming off last week's Australian Open championship, will get Sunday off in the reverse singles. The six-time major champion is 20-7 lifetime in Davis Cup singles.
Serbia, which lost to Belgium in the lone previous Davis Cup encounter back in 2005, will advance to April's quarterfinals against the winner between Brazil and the United States.
