Tim Rusthoven scored 17 points and grabbed 16 rebounds as William & Mary defeated Hofstra 72-59 Saturday in a Colonial Athletic Association game.
Rusthoven tallied his fourth double-double in six games for the Tribe (9-12, 3-7), who lost 70-59 at Hofstra on Jan. 12. His rebound total was the highest for William & Mary since David Culley's 26 against Virginia Military Institute on Jan. 17, 1996.
Brandon Britt scored six points and Rusthoven five during an 11-0 run late in the first half that gave William & Mary a 35-20 lead 2:14 before halftime.
Britt finished with 17 points, Marcus Thornton 16 and Kyle Gaillard 13 for the Tribe, which had lost nine of its last 10.
William & Mary shot a season-high 56.8 percent (25 of 44) to 35.6 percent (21 of 59) for Hofstra.
David Imes scored 16 points for Hofstra, which lost its sixth in a row.
