Houston Baptist wins for 1st time this season in Great West, beats NJIT 66-57

Art Bernardi had 22 points and 12 rebounds Saturday to lead Houston Baptist to its first Great West Conference win of the season, 66-57 over NJIT.

It was Bernardi's fourth straight game with 20 or more points. Caleb Crayton added 12 points for the Huskies (7-14, 1-3 Great West), who scored the last 10 points of the first half to lead 24-21 at the break.

Houston Baptist went ahead to stay at 36-33 on Crayton's 3-pointer.

Chris Flores led the Highlanders (11-11, 3-1) with 17 points and six steals. PJ Miller had 13 points and Ryan Woods scored 10 for NJIT.
