Damen Bell-Holter had 23 points and 10 rebounds Warren Niles added 20 points as Oral Roberts held off Southeastern Louisiana 65-59 Saturday night.
After Southeastern Louisiana scored 11 straight points to pull within 51-47 with 5:37 remaining, Niles converted a four-point play and Bell-Holter followed with a three-point play to help the Golden Eagles (14-8, 9-1 Southland) pull away for good and earn their sixth straight victory.
Dre Evans scored 17 points and Brandon Fortenberry had 16 for the Lions (8-12, 6-4), who had their three-game winning streak snapped.
Oral Roberts led 29-25 at halftime and scored the first eight points of the second half. The Eagles extended the lead to 51-36 with 8:05 remaining on a 3-pointer by Mickey Manghum and a steal and layup by Niles before Southeastern Louisiana responded with an 11-0 run capped by Evans' 3-pointer with 5:37 remaining.
