Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany could miss another three weeks because of a calf injury.

Kompany suffered the problem in City's FA Cup fourth-round win at Stoke City, and missed the 0-0 draw at QPR on Tuesday.

But manager Roberto Mancini revealed that his captain will be out longer than expected, meaning that City could be without the Belgium international for matches with Liverpool and Southampton in the league as well as a fifth-round FA Cup contest against Leeds United.

Kompany has started 20 of City's 24 Premiership games this season, with City entering the weekend seven points back of leaders Manchester United.
