United's Petrucci extends Peterborough stay

Manchester United starlet Davide Petrucci has extended his loan spell at Peterborough until the end of the season, it was announced Thursday.

"I am very happy. I only signed for a month in the first place because it was my first loan spell," the 21-year-old Italian told the club's official website. "I didn't know what to expect. However, since the first few days I realized that I wanted to stay for longer and I am very pleased to be here until the end of the season."

Petrucci joined Premier League club from Roma in 2009 but has failed to make an appearance for the Manchester United first-team.
