Kellen Thornton had 17 points and 10 rebounds, and Patrick Miller and Robert Covington scored 17 each to lead Tennessee State to an 84-65 victory over Tennessee Tech in Ohio Valley Conference play Thursday night.
M.J. Rhett added 13 points and Jordan Cyphers 10 for the Tigers (13-10, 7-3), who had lost three in a row on the road but are 9-0 at home.
Jud Dillard had 20 points and eight rebounds, Dennis Ogbe scored 17 with 12 rebounds, and Jeremia Samarrippas added 12 points for the Golden Eagles (8-13, 2-7), who have lost nine of their past 11 games.
Tennessee Tech committed 24 turnovers, which led to 32 points for Tennessee State.
The Tigers led 24-7 midway through the first half and cruised to the victory.
Tennessee State shot 42.6 percent from the field (26 of 61), while Tennessee Tech shot 32.8 percent (19 of 58).
