Fiorentina has signed PSG midfielder Mohamed Sissoko on a loan deal for the remainder of the season, it was announced Thursday.

The 28-year-old will arrive at the Stadio Artemio Franchi upon the conclusion of the African Cup of Nations. Fiorentina will hold the option of signing the Mali international at the conclusion of the loan spell.

Sissoko made his professional debut with Valencia in 2003 before moving to England to join Liverpool in 2005. He made the move to Juventus in 2008 but was plagued by injuries during his three-year spell in Italy, ultimately forcing him out of Turin and into the fold with PSG.
