T.J. Price scored 17 points as Western Kentucky ended a three-game losing streak with a 65-61 Sun Belt Conference victory over Troy on Thursday night.
Western Kentucky big men Aleksejs Rostov, George Fant and Teeng Akol combined for 36 points on 13-of-17 shooting. Rostov made 5 of 5 shots and had 14 points, Fant made 4 of 7 and had 13 points and Akol made 4 of 5 for nine points.
Price's 3-pointer put the Hilltoppers (12-11, 6-6) ahead to stay, 52-50, with 11:37 remaining, and he capped an 11-0 run with another 3-pointer to make it 59-50.
The Trojans (9-13, 4-7) scored seven straight points to draw to within 63-61, but two free throws by Brandon Harris gave Western Kentucky its final lead with 20 seconds left.
Hunter Williams scored a career-high 23 points and Ray Chambers 18 for Troy, which lost 75-71 to Western Kentucky on Dec. 1.
