JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Chase Fieler scored 22 points with eight rebounds, and Florida Gulf Coast made a 19-7 run late in the second half to defeat North Florida 89-75 in an Atlantic Sun Conference game Thursday.
Sherwood Brown contributed 19 points and seven rebounds, Brett Comer scored 17, Bernard Thompson 13 and Eddie Murray 10 for the Eagles (15-8, 7-3). The victory gave Florida Gulf Coast a season sweep.
The Eagles shot 52.2 percent (12 of 23) on 3-pointers to the Ospreys' 31.6 percent (6 of 19) and scored 19 points off turnovers to UNF's eight.
Parker Smith scored 20 points for North Florida (8-15, 3-7), while Travis Wallace had 14, BaeBae Daniels 12 and Andy Diaz 11. The Ospreys have lost four straight.
North Florida closed to 58-57 on Wallace's free throws with 11:11 to go, but Murray capped the 19-7 run with a layup for a 77-64 advantage with 5:02 remaining.
