Adrian Powell scored 23 points and Jeremy Underwood hit the game-winning 3-pointer with 9 seconds showing to lift North Carolina A&T over Coppin State 63-62 Monday in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference action.

Lamont Middleton added 14 points and 10 rebounds while Austin Witter chipped in eight points, eight rebounds and five assists North Carolina A&T. Witter's layup with 8:08 left to play broke a 56-56 tie.

Powell hit a layup to push the Aggies' (10-11, 3-3) lead to four before Coppin State launched a 6-0 run to take a 62-60 lead with 2:02 remaining.

Both teams went scoreless over the next 1:57 until Underwood sank his game-winner.

Coppin State (5-17, 2-5) had a final possession but Witter blocked Patrick Cole's layup attempt as time expired. The Eagles shot 46.2 percent (12 of 26) in the first half but fell to 31.6 percent (6 of 19) in the second half.
