PSV Eindhoven moved back into first place in the Dutch Eredivisie on Saturday, thrashing Heracles 5-1 at the Polman Stadion.

The visitors were two goals up by halftime as Tim Matavz and Jeremain Lens scored in the 23rd and 35th minutes, respectively.

Everton Ramos da Silva pulled one back for Heracles in the 62nd minute, but it was negated by PSV's treble in the span of 10 minutes.

Georgino Wijnaldum restored PSV's two-goal advantage in the 66th minute before Dries Mertens extended the club's lead in the 72nd minute. Wijnaldum put the icing on the cake four minutes later to seal his brace and cap a potent offensive output for the Eredivisie-leaders.

PSV improves to 43 points to move two points clear of second-place Twente, which can reclaim its position at the summit of Holland's top flight with a win at Feyenoord on Sunday.

Elsewhere on Saturday, NAC thrashed RKC Waalwijk 4-0 at the Mandemakers Stadion with all four goals coming in the second half. Danny Verbeek gave the visitors the edge before Jordy Buijs, Alex Schalk and Eric Botteghin put the result beyond any doubt.

Also on Saturday, Den Haag played to a dramatic 2-2 draw with Roda at the Kyocera Stadion as Mark Jan Fledderus equalized for visiting Roda in the 88th minute, while Denni Avdic bagged an equalizer six minutes from time to see Zwolle earn a point in a 1-1 draw with Heerenveen.
