Tyrone Watson scored 12 points, grabbed six rebounds and New Mexico State outlasted Denver 53-42 on Wednesday night.

New Mexico State (13-8, 7-2 WAC) shot only 36.5 percent from the field, making 19 of 52 attempts, but was 12 for 18 from the free-throw line and out-rebounded the Pioneers 41-24.

Denver had similar luck from the field, making only 40.9 percent and was a dismal 3 for 18 from beyond the arc.

The Aggies led 29-22 at halftime and led by as many as 17 points with just over 4 minutes to go in the game.

Daniel Mullings had 11 points, eight rebounds and two assists for New Mexico State and Bandja Sy chipped in with 10 points and eight rebounds.

No player was in double figures for Denver (11-8, 7-2). Chris Udofia and Jalen Love scored nine points apiece while teammate Royce O'Neile had nine points and 10 rebounds.
