The Toronto Blue Jays have signed infielder Mark DeRosa to a one-year, $750,000 contract, with a club option for 2014.

DeRosa, 37, batted .188 with five doubles and six RBI in 48 games for the Nationals last season.

In 1,153 career games with the Braves (1998-2004), Rangers (2005-06), Cubs (2007-08), Indians (2009), Cardinals (2009), Giants (2010-11), and Nationals (2012), DeRosa has posted a .270 average with 93 home runs and 458 RBI.

To make room for DeRosa, Toronto designated right-handed pitcher Sam Dyson for assignment.
