Norfolk State will tie a school record by playing seven home games during its 12-game 2013 schedule announced Friday.

The seven home games will match the 2006 and 2009 seasons for the most in one year at Dick Price Stadium.

The Spartans will host Maine (Aug. 31) in a first-ever matchup as well as Charleston Southern (Sept. 21) and Old Dominion (Oct. 26) in non-conference action. They will host Savannah State (Oct. 5), Hampton (Oct. 19), Florida A&M (Nov. 2, Homecoming) and South Carolina State (Nov. 23) in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference games.

The Spartans also will travel to Rutgers (Sept. 7) for a non-conference game and visit Morgan State (Sept. 28), Delaware State (Oct. 12), Bethune-Cookman (Nov. 9) and North Carolina Central (Nov. 16) for MEAC games.

"I feel like this could be the most competitive schedule we've ever played," NSU head coach Pete Adrian said. "In addition, our home schedule is outstanding and has to be one of the most attractive we've ever had for our fans. The schedule is quite a challenge, but our players are excited about it and I think they will be up to the challenge."

After winning the MEAC title in 2011, Norfolk State had a 4-7 record, including 2-6 in the conference, this past season.
