Sunderland announced on Wednesday that the club has completed the signing of midfielder Alfred N'Diaye from Turkish side Bursaspor for an undisclosed fee.

N'Diaye arrives at the Stadium of Light on a 3 1/2-year contract and he becomes the first signing in January for manager Martin O'Neill.

The 22-year-old moved to Bursaspor from Nancy last year and has represented France at the Under-21 level on the international stage.

The Black Cats currently sit five points above the relegation places having won five of their first 21 league games.
