(SportsNetwork.com) - The Dallas Mavericks look to get back on track when they resume a three-game western road trip Wednesday against the Utah Jazz.

Dallas opened the journey with Tuesday's 108-85 defeat at the hands of the Golden State Warriors, as Dirk Nowitzki scored just 12 points on 4-of-11 shooting and Monta Ellis led the visitors with 15 points.

Jose Calderon and Vince Carter scored 13 and 10 points, respectively, for the Mavericks, who have lost four of six games and shot a paltry 36.6 percent. The Warriors erased a 16-8 deficit to take a 45-27 lead and later had a 71-50 advantage late in the third quarter.

"When we needed to make shots, we didn't," said Dallas head coach Rick Carlisle. "When we needed to get stops, we didn't. We got to get ready for tomorrow."

The Mavericks, who sit eighth in the Western Conference standings, are winless in three straight on the road, have a 17-17 record outside of Big D and will wrap up the trek Sunday at Oklahoma City.

In milestone news for Nowitzki, he is currently tied with John Havlicek for 12th on the all-time scoring list with 26,395 points. Dominique Wilkins ranks 11th all-time with 26,668 career points.

Utah kicked off a three-game homestand with Monday's 112-110 loss to the Atlanta Hawks and is 1-6 in the past seven games.

Trey Burke netted 23 points and Marvin Williams supplied 18 points and six rebounds for Utah, which shot a respectable 48.8 percent and scored 26 points on 12 Atlanta turnovers. The Jazz were outscored 36-19 in the third quarter.

"Hustle, energy, execution, and being determined to get to your spots early and being aggressive on the defensive end," Jazz head coach Tyrone Corbin said of the third quarter.

Alec Burks is averaging 19.0 points in his last 13 home games and posted 12 in the loss to the Hawks. Richard Jefferson netted 15 and Derrick Favors 14.

The Jazz, who are back in Salt Lake City for the first time since Feb. 26, have lost the first two meetings with Dallas this season and are just 3-10 in the previous 13 games in this series.

However, Utah has defeated Dallas three straight times at home.
