Wozniaki moves on in Sydney

Seventh-seeded Caroline Wozniacki defeated Urszula Radwanska, 6-1, 6-2, in the first round of the Sydney International tennis event, a final Australian Open tune-up.

Dominika Cibulkova, Maria Kirilenko and Ekaterina Makarova were also winners on the hardcourts at Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre on Sunday.

Cibulkova ousted fifth-seeded Petra Kvitova in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1, while Kirilenko sent down Olivia Rogowaska, 7-5, 6-2, to advance to the second round. Makarova defeated Varvara Lepchenko, 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 to conclude play on Sunday.

World No. 1 Victoria Azarenka beat 2011 champion Li Na in last year's Sydney finale.
