Melvin Morgan scored 27 points and Chris Hansen added 19 as Idaho State defeated Northern Colorado 86-63 Saturday night.

The Bengals (2-11, 1-3 Big Sky) used a 15-0 run near the end of the first half to take command. They hit 7 of 15 3-point baskets to open the second half and eventually took a 57-36 lead with 14 minutes remaining in the game.

Derrick Barden led Northern Colorado (3-9, 1-3) with 19 points. Tate Unruh added 14.

Idaho State won for the first time since Nov. 29, ending a six-game losing streak.

Tomas Sanchez and Sherrod Baldwin added 11 points each for the Bengals.

Northern Colorado tied the game at 19-19 after Unruh's basket with 8:17 left in the first half, but he was unable to convert the traditional three-point play. Idaho State then went on a 15-0 run with five players contributing points.
