Lyon eased past Nice in a 3-0 win at the Stade de Gerland on Saturday to keep pace in the Ligue 1 title chase.

First-place PSG picked up a victory over Brest on Friday to go three points clear at the top of the table, but Lyon went level on 38 points thanks to a three-goal performance at home.

Lyon scored at the perfect time as Lisandro Lopez opened the scoring five minutes before halftime.

Eleven minutes into the second half, Lyon's lead was doubled as Anthony Reveillere notched his first goal of the season.

Nice was reduced to 10 men in the 74th minute as David Ospina was sent off, and the home side took advantage as Bafetimbi Gomis converted a penalty kick three minutes later.

Dejan Lovren was issued a red card in the closing stages to see Lyon go down to 10 men as well, but the damage had already been done.

Nice sees its two-game winning run come to end as the club stays put on 29 points.

Pedrinho helped salvage a point for Lorient on Saturday, scoring in the 90th minute to see his side play to a 2-2 draw with Reims. Lorient improves to 31 points while Reims climbs to 19 points.

Also on Saturday, Anthony Modeste bagged a brace in Bastia's 4-2 defeat of Nancy, Julien Feret scored twice for Rennes in its 4-2 win over Ajaccio, Lille was dominant in a 4-1 defeat of 10-man Montepllier and Bordeaux played to a 0-0 draw with Troyes.
