Marshall Henderson scored 18 points and Mississippi held on to beat Loyola Marymount 73-70 Wednesday night.

Murphy Holloway had 16 points and 14 rebounds for the Rebels (8-1), who won for the first time on the road this season. Nick Williams had 13 points and Jarvis Summers scored 12 for Mississippi.

Anthony Ireland led the Lions (5-5) with 17 points, but missed a 3-pointer in the closing seconds for the tie. He missed on a rebound shot that was a 2-point attempt and the Lions did not attempt another 3-point shot.

Ireland also had nine rebounds and five assists. Ayodeji Egbeyemi scored 14 points, Ashley Hamilton scored 13 and Chase Flint had 12 points for Loyola Marymount, playing for the first time since Dec. 5.

Mississippi is the second Southeastern Conference team to play at LMU. Mississippi State in 2007 was the other one. The Rebels next play Saturday in the Diamond Head Invitational in Honolulu.
