Brazilian defender Lucio completed a move to Sao Paulo on Wednesday after he was released from his contract with Juventus earlier this week.

The 34-year-old started his career in Brazil with Internacional before moving on to Bayern Munich, where he won three Bundesliga crowns.

Lucio helped Inter Milan capture the treble in 2010, but he was let go over the summer and joined Juventus, where he appeared in only four games in all competitions before his departure.

After making 105 appearances for Brazil, Lucio's international career came to an end in 2011.

Sao Paolo director of football Adalberto Baptista said: "Signing Lucio has been a long-standing dream for Sao Paulo. We came very close to signing him in July, but in the end it was not possible. This time everything went well and he will add a lot of quality, experience and leadership to the squad."
