Bremen, Germany – Werder Bremen announced Tuesday that it has signed defender Mateo Pavlovic from Croatian side NK Zagreb for an undisclosed fee.
Pavlovic, 22, has agreed to a contract that will keep at Bremen until June 2016.
"He is a big center-back who is strong in challenges and in the air and has a good technique," Bremen coach Thomas Schaaf told the club's official website. "Mateo gives us a player who improves our team with his qualities."
He will be formally introduced as a member of the squad when the Bundesliga returns from its winter break on January 3.
