Tottenham reclaimed fourth place in the Premier League on Sunday, riding Jan Vertonghen's goal to a 1-0 defeat of Swansea City at White Hart Lane.

Vertonghen, who joined Spurs in the summer from Ajax, bagged his second goal of the season, scoring with just 15 minutes to go in the second half.

Tottenham closed out the match to improve to 29 points and jump back in front of Everton after its draw with Stoke City on Saturday had catapulted the Toffees to fourth place.

Swansea has lost two straight in league play to remain in 10th place on 23 points.

West Bromwich 0, West Ham 0

West Bromwich, England - West Bromwich and West Ham retained their respective positions in the Premier League table after playing to a 0-0 draw at the Hawthorns on Sunday.

The draw snapped a three-game losing skid in league play for the Baggies, who stay in sixth place with 27 points on the season.

West Ham improves to 23 points, going level with Swansea City but retaining 11th place on goal differential.
