Ponte Vedra Beach, FL – Tom Lehman was named the Champions Tour Player of the Year for the second straight year on Friday.
Lehman, who last year became the first player in history to win Player of the Year honors on all three tours affiliated with the PGA Tour, earned two victories and a dozen top-10 finishes in 2012. He captured the Regions Tradition and the season-ending Charles Schwab Cup Championship.
"Tom had another amazing year on the Champions Tour," said Champions Tour president Mike Stevens. "To follow up a history-making season, like he had in 2011, requires immense skill, consistent performances, great perseverance and incredible patience."
Lehman was No. 2 on the money list behind Bernhard Langer, whose earnings of $2,140,296 in 20 starts won him the Arnold Palmer Award as the Tour's leading money winner for a record fourth time
Kirk Triplett was named the Champions Tour Rookie of the Year, while Fred Couples claimed the Byron Nelson Award as the Champions Tour scoring leader with a 68.52 scoring average.
Triplett won the Nature Valley First Tee Open for the only rookie win of 2012 and finsihed 19th on the money list.
