(SportsNetwork.com) - The Atlanta Hawks have fared well recently against the Memphis Grizzlies and the two clubs will square off Sunday at FedExForum.
The Hawks took both meetings against Memphis a season ago, have won 11 of the previous 13 games in this series and are unbeaten in three straight matchups on Beale Street. Atlanta is 5-1 in the last six at FedExForum.
Atlanta has won two in a row overall since a three-game slide and posted an 83-80 victory versus the Houston Rockets Friday night from Philips Arena, where Paul Millsap scored 20 points to go along with seven rebounds and Kyle Korver also netted 20 points. Korver has made a 3-pointer in an NBA-record 106 straight games and sank 4-of-7 from beyond the arc.
Mike Scott added 14 points off the bench in the win. Scott is averaging 12.7 points in his last three games.
"I think the group is starting to trust each other defensively," said Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer. "It's just good to see that trust being built up. I'm really happy with the defensive effort against a very good offensive team."
The Hawks are 6-12 as the visitor this season and have lost two in a row and three of four games on the road.
Memphis has rotated results in each of the past nine games and posted a 104-99 victory versus Phoenix Friday night behind a career-high tying 31 points from Mike Conley. Conley made 11-of-19 from the floor and handed out seven assists.
"I feel like I'm just showing people what I can do," Conley said of possibly making the All-Star team. "I'm just going to continue playing and try to get wins and see what happens, because I have no control over (the All-Star selections). But I feel like I'm playing at an all-time level right now."
Conley also had 31 points against Philadelphia on March 7, 2009 and is averaging a career-best and team-leading 18.0 points per game.
Zach Randolph registered a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds for the Grizzlies, who shot 48.8 percent and received 10 points and a career-high 17 rebounds from Ed Davis. Randolph has 22 double-doubles this season and 19 in his last 26 games.
Memphis has scored 100-plus points in four straight games, is 1-1 so far on a four-game homestand and 8-12 as the host. Oklahoma City will visit the Grizzlies on Tuesday.
The Grizzlies will try to keep the Hawks under 100 points because they are only 2-13 this season when allowing that many.
