Mesut Ozil scored twice, including the match-winner off a free kick into the top-right corner, as Real Madrid escaped with a 3-2 win over Valladolid on Saturday at the Jose Zorrilla in La Liga.

Ozil scored his first goal just before halftime to tie the match at 2-all, and added the winner off a spectacular free kick off the underside of the crossbar in the upper corner in the 72nd minute.

Karim Benzema also scored for Real Madrid, which overcame two Manucho goals to secure its 10th win of the season and move within eight points of first-place Barcelona. Barca visits Real Betis on Sunday.

Valladolid had a two-game winning streak snapped, and is seventh in the table.

Malaga 4, Granada 0

Malaga, Spain - Joaquin and Javier Saviola scored in a seven-minute stretch of the first half and Malaga beat Granada, 4-0, on Saturday in La Liga at Estadio La Rosaleda.

Joaquin opened the scoring in the 26th minute and Saviola followed in the 33rd and Ignacio Camacho and Roque Santa Cruz added second-half goals to clinch the victory.

Malaga climbed into fourth place, while Granada lost for the third time during a four-game winless streak to remain stuck in the bottom three.

Valencia 1, Osasuna 0

Navarra, Spain - Roberto Soldado scored his eighth goal as Valencia snapped a two-game losing streak with a 1-0 win over Osasuna on Saturday at the Estadio El Sadar in La Liga.

Valencia was outscored 9-2 combined in losses to Malaga and Real Sociedad, but Soldado got the club back on track with a 56th-minute goal that secured a road victory against Osasuna.

Osasuna had a four-game unbeaten streak snapped, and sits just one point above the bottom three. Valencia climbed into the top half on 21 points.

Real Sociedad 1, Getafe 1

San Sebastian, Spain - Carlos Martinez scored in extra time as Real Sociedad tied Getafe, 1-1, on Saturday at Anoeta to extend its La Liga unbeaten streak to five matches.

Lafita scored just five minutes earlier in the 86th minute for Getafe, which had a three-game win streak snapped but remained unbeaten in four matches.

Sociedad climbed to eighth in the standings. Getafe is sixth.
