Conte returns to Juve bench

Palermo, Italy – Antonio Conte will return to the sidelines for Juventus on Sunday when the Serie A leaders visit Palermo.

For Conte, Sunday will be the first time his takes his place on the touchline since being handed a 10-month ban in August for his alleged role in match fixing.

The suspension was later reduced to four months on appeal, and the boss returns with his side having just clinched the top spot in its Champions League group with a 1-0 win at Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday under the guidance of Angelo Alessio, who will return to his normal role as assistant coach.

A 3-0 win over Torino in the Turin derby last weekend was important as it ended a brief rough patch in league play for Juve, which had claimed only one win from its previous four games.

But despite the skid Juve enters Sunday's match two points clear at the top of the league, while Palermo is just two points above the relegation places having won three times in its first 15 matches.

Napoli and Inter Milan are the nearest challengers to Juventus and those two sides will square off at the San Siro separated by two points.

Despite a 3-1 defeat to PSV Eindhoven in the Europa League on Thursday, Napoli still clinched a place in the knockout round, and the team is riding a five- game unbeaten streak in Serie A.

Inter also finds itself in the Europa League knockout round, but the club's form in the league has dipped recently as Andrea Stramaccioni's side has collected four points from its last four games.

AC Milan finds itself in seventh place ahead of Sunday's visit to Torino, but the Rossoneri is hoping to pick up a third successive win to keep its recent resurgence going after a terrible first few months of the season.

Roma and Fiorentina both find themselves in the top six and among the European places and they get together at the Stadio Olimpico with the Viola attempting to extend its unbeaten streak in the league to 10 games.

Atalanta tries to snap a three-game losing skid at home against Parma on Saturday, while bottom-half sides Cagliari and Chievo face off.

Siena enters Sunday's home contest against Catania second from the bottom, while fellow relegation strugglers Pescara and Genoa do battle.

The weekend's schedule concludes with a pair of games on Monday as mid-table sides Udinese and Sampdoria take to the field at the Luigi Ferraris, and fifth-place Lazio tangles with Bologna.
