Stephon Carter scored 20 points to lead Cal State Bakersfield to a 72-70 win over Cal State Fullerton on Thursday night.

Adam Young had a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Brandon Barnes scored 14 and Javante Maynor 10. Britton Williams came off the bench and scored 10 for the Roadrunners (3-0).

Cal State Fullerton led 43-29 at halftime. The Roadrunners outrebounded the Titans 47-31, and scored 12 points off Titan turnovers.

At 4:18 remaining in the game, Young made a layup to tie the game at 66. He followed with a second layup, giving the Roadrunners a 68-66 lead at the 3:25 mark. The Roadrunners maintained the lead, but the Titans kept the game close.

Kwame Vaughn led the Titans (3-5) with 22 points. Vaughn, Deuce Johnson and Alex Harris had six rebounds apiece. Harris scored 14 points. D.J. Seeley had 14 and Sammy Yeager had 12.
