Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant scored his 30,000th career point late in the first half of Wednesday's game against the New Orleans Hornets.

With 1:16 left in the second quarter, Bryant made a floating jumper in the paint for his 13th and 14th points of the game, giving him 30,001 for his career.

Bryant is the fifth player in NBA history to reach 30,000 points, joining Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387), Karl Malone (36,928), Michael Jordan (32,292) and Wilt Chamberlain (31,419).

Bryant (34 years, 104 days) became the youngest player in NBA history to reach the milestone.
