Stanford remained the top team in women's college basketball, according to the latest Associated Press poll.

The Cardinal received 22 first-place votes and a total of 978 points from a nationwide media panel, keeping the top spot for a third straight week.

Connecticut again picked up 17 first-place votes and 968 points to hold the second spot, while Baylor remained third with a single No. 1 tally. Duke and Notre Dame also kept their spots to complete the same top five as last week.

Georgia, Kentucky, Louisville, Maryland and Penn State round out the top 10. Penn State dropped four spots from sixth after a loss to Miami last week.

The second 10 consists of California, Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Purdue, Oklahoma State, Kansas, UCLA, Dayton and Ohio State. Kansas and UCLA are tied for 17th.

North Carolina, Iowa State, Miami, Florida State and Nebraska are the last five teams ranked. Miami moved into the poll on the strength of its win over Penn State, while Florida State is also a newcomer this week with a 7-0 mark.

St. John's and West Virginia each dropped out.
