Madrid, Spain – Real Betis moved into fourth place in La Liga on Sunday, edging Deportivo 3-2 at the Riazor for a second successive league win.
Ruben Castro scored in the 39th and 55th minutes to put Betis firmly in the driver's seat.
The two-goal advantage did not last long as Deportivo got back on level terms within six minutes. Riki bagged a brace of his own, scoring in the 56th and 61st minutes to bring the home back into the match.
Deportivo was able to remain level until the 76th when Joel Campbell notched his first goal of the season, lifting Real Betis to 25 points through 14 games. The club moves three points clear of fifth-place Getafe.
With three losses in its last four games, Deportivo remains second from bottom in Spain's top flight with 11 points.
Celta Vigo 1, Levante 1
Vigo, Spain - Roger scored in the dying minutes to help Levante salvage a point in the club's 1-1 draw with Celta Vigo at the Estadio Municipal de Balaidos on Sunday.
Enrique De Lucas had put Celta Vigo in front in the 37th minute, but it was Roger's strike one minute from time that saw the two clubs split the points.
Celta Vigo is unbeaten in its last three league contests to improve to 15 points, six points behind Levante.
Granada 0, Espanyol 0
Granada, Spain - Espanyol snapped a three-game losing streak on Sunday, escaping from Los Carmenes with a point in a 0-0 draw with Granada.
The draw sees Espanyol reach double-digit points with 10 on the season.
Granada remains two points ahead of Espanyol, improving to 12 points through 14 games.
Mallorca 1, Real Zaragoza 1
Mallorca, Spain - Victor Casadesus missed a first-half penalty kick but made amends with an equalizer six minutes from time in Mallorca's 1-1 draw with 10- man Real Zaragoza at Iberostar Stadium on Sunday.
Real Zaragoza's Glenn Loovens was sent off in the 12th minute for denying a scoring opportunity in the penalty area, but Casadesus missed the ensuing attempt from the spot. Helder Postiga made Mallorca pay with the opening goal three minutes later, but Casadesus earned the home side a share of the spoils with the tying goal in the 84th minute.
Mallorca climbs out of the relegation zone by improving to 13 points and Real Zaragoza snaps a two-game slide to improve to 16 points.
