Martin Kaymer of Germany held on for a 2-shot victory at the Nedbank Golf Challenge at a rainy Sun City on Sunday, earning his first title of 2012.
Kaymer finished with an 8-under 280 ahead of Charl Schwartzel of South Africa. American Bill Haas was third at 3 under par.
Kaymer was in trouble twice toward the end, pulling his tee shoot deep into the rough on the par-5 No. 14. He blasted out and made a brilliant birdie.
He bogeyed No. 15 to allow Schwartzel to get within one shot, but recovered through the last three holes to close out a first win since November 20, 2011.
