MORAGA, Calif. – Brad Waldow scored 17 points, leading five St. Mary's players in double digits, and the Gaels beat Cal Poly 86-68 Saturday night.
Waldow was 8 of 9 from the field.
Matthew Dellavedova had 13 points, nine assists. Matt Hodgson had a career-high 13 points and Jorden Page added 12. Mitchell Young scored nine of his 11 points in the first half for the Gaels (5-2). Beau Levesque led the team with six rebounds.
Cal Poly (2-3) shot 60 percent from the field in the first half, but St. Mary's led 42-35 at halftime. The Gaels shot 64.4 percent from the field for the game, while Cal Poly finished at 52 percent.
Chris Eversley led Cal Poly with 25 points and six rebounds. Brian Bennett added 10 for the Mustangs, who beat an 11th-ranked UCLA 70-68 on Sunday in Los Angeles.
