RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Tate Uruh scored 17 points and three of his UC Riverside teammates scored in double figures on Saturday night, paving the way for a 69-63 victory over Northern Colorado.
UC Riverside (2-6) also got 13 points from Tevin Svihovec, 12 from Tim Huskisson and 11 from Derrick Barden.
Barden also grabbed 14 rebounds and was effective at the defensive end, coming up with four steals.
Robert Smith scored 21 points to lead Northern Colorado (1-4). Chris Harriel scored 17 points and came up with seven steals, and Taylor Johns grabbed 12 rebounds.
UC Riverside managed to hold on despite making just 21 of 45 free throws.
