A Kansas City Chiefs player reportedly committed suicide at the team's practice facility on Saturday morning.

The Chiefs released a statement confirming the report of an incident, but offered no further details.

"We can confirm that there was an incident at Arrowhead earlier this morning," said the Chiefs in a statement. "We are cooperating with authorities in this investigation."

According to KCTV-5 in Kansas City, police officials said the Chiefs player shot and killed his girlfriend at home, then drove to the team's practice facility and killed himself with a gunshot.
