East Carolina has accepted an invitation to meet Louisiana-Lafayette in the New Orleans Bowl.

The invitation went out to the Pirates (8-4l, 7-1 Conference USA) after Tulsa's overtime victory over Central Florida in the Conference USA title game Saturday. East Carolina has won five of its last six games, but lost out in tiebreaker with Central Florida for Conference USA's East Division crown.

The Ragin' Cajuns (7-4, 5-2 Sun Belt Conference) are the defending New Orleans Bowl winners and were looking to clinch a second-straight eight-win season in their regular-season finale Saturday night at Florida Atlantic.

Louisiana-Lafayette accepted its bowl invitation after beating South Alabama last week.

The New Orleans Bowl will kick off on Dec. 22 in the Superdome at 11 a.m.
