Mike DiNunno made a layup with 3 seconds left, and Eastern Kentucky roared back from an 11-point halftime deficit to beat Western Carolina 72-70 and remain undefeated for the season on Saturday night.

Glenn Cosey scored 15 points, DiNunno had 14, Corey Walden 11 and Jeff Johnson 10 for the Colonels, who won their seventh consecutive game to open the season.

The last time the Colonels started as well was in 1946-47, when the "Maroons" won their first 11 games.

Western Carolina (3-5) was led by Tawaski King with 18 points, Mike Brown with 11 and James Sinclair with 10.

The Colonels outshot the Catamounts 52.7 percent (28 of 52) to 30 percent (9 of 30) in the second half to stage the comeback.

Cosey tied the game at 68 with a layup with 51 seconds left, and the Catamounts' Trey Sumler made it 70-68 with 16 seconds left.
