The Toronto Raptors haven't had much success when facing the Phoenix Suns, but did win last season's lone matchup between the teams.

The Raptors and Suns will clash Friday night at Air Canada Centre.

Toronto ended a 14-game losing streak to the Suns with a 99-96 victory on Jan. 24 in the desert and hasn't won consecutive games in this series since taking both matchups back in 2003-04. Phoenix, though, has won seven straight games north of the border.

A six-game losing streak is what the Raptors are currently dealing with and they dropped a 103-82 decision Wednesday to the Memphis Grizzlies. DeMar DeRozan had 16 points, while Kyle Lowry and reserve Jose Calderon scored 12 points apiece for Toronto, which is 3-13 on the season.

"It hurts, but it's supposed to hurt when you get spanked like that," Toronto coach Dwane Casey said.

Toronto forward Andrea Bargnani sat out with a sore left ankle and is listed as questionable Friday. Bargnani is second on the team with 17.9 ppg. DeRozan leads the Raptors with 18.1 points per game and is averaging 22.8 ppg in six games at home.

After hosting the Suns, the Raptors will embark on a five-game western road trip against the Nuggets, Kings, Jazz, Clippers and Trail Blazers.

Phoenix had won three of four games until a lopsided 117-77 defeat at the hands of the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday. Phoenix scored fewer points in the second half (33) than the Pistons did in the fourth quarter (36).

Luis Scola had 11 points and six rebounds for the Suns, who got 10 points from Markieff Morris and Goran Dragic. The Suns are 1-2 on a season-long, six-game road trip and have lost five games this season by 10 or more points.

"There's not anything to say about this," said Phoenix coach Alvin Gentry. "It was an absolutely horrendous game and we'll have to come out with a much better effort on Friday."

The Suns will also visit New York and Memphis on the road trip. Dragic is the only Suns player with at least 10 points in every game this season.

Gortat has started 93 straight games and has nine double-digit scoring efforts in 2012-13.
