Since Conference USA instituted its championship game in 2005, no teams have been there more than Tulsa and Central Florida.

Now with UCF and others set to depart at season's end as part of the latest round of massive realignment, it's fitting that two of C-USA's most decorated teams will compete for its top honors one final time Saturday.

This will be the fourth championship game appearance both schools, including two head-to-head matchups. Those two meetings — in 2005 and 2007 — ended in near identical blowout wins, first by the Golden Hurricane and then by the Knights.

Tulsa comes in with momentum, having beaten UCF just two weeks ago in Oklahoma. The Golden Hurricane again have home field against a Knights' team seeking a league-record third title game victory.
