Mike Caffey scored 15 points, leading four Long Beach State players in double figures, and the 49ers beat Loyola Marymount 73-70 Thursday night.

James Ennis had 14 points, Deng Deng scored 13 and Kris Gulley had 12 points and 10 rebounds for Long Beach State (3-3). Ennis contributed four points in an 8-0 run that put the 49ers ahead 67-62, and they maintained the lead the rest of the way.

Ashley Hamilton scored 17 points to lead the Lions (3-4), who played their first home game since Nov. 9. Loyola Marymount went 2-3 on the road, including a 1-2 record last weekend in the Alaska Shootout.

Ayodeji Egbeyemi had 16 points and 11 rebounds for Loyola Marymount. C.J. Blackwell added 15 points, all on 3-pointers. He was 5 of 8 from behind the arc for the Lions, who made 13 of 25 to stay close.
