Streaking Nuggets visit Jazz

The Denver Nuggets will look for a fifth straight victory Monday night when they head to EnegerySolutions Arena to take on the Utah Jazz.

The Nuggets collected their fourth consecutive win Sunday night in a 102-84 romp at home over the New Orleans Hornets. Denver has two road wins during this streak and plays its next three outside the Pepsi Center.

Andre Iguodala led the way for the Nuggets on Sunday with 23 points and Kenneth Faried posted yet another double-double, this time with 14 points and 12 boards. Ty Lawson chipped in 17 for the Nuggets.

Denver is playing some unreal basketball immediately after the half. In their last three games, the Nuggets have outscored their opponents 45-16 in the first five minutes of the third quarter.

"That's a point we wanted to step on their neck, make sure they didn't have a chance to make a late-game run," said Lawson.

The Nuggets led by as many as 28 on Sunday and it was good for head coach George Karl to get some of his starters some rest. Iguodala was the only player to go more than 30 minutes and that will help since the Nuggets play four games in six days.

The Jazz had a three-game win streak snapped Saturday night in Sacramento. In the back end of a home-and-home, the Jazz fell to the Kings 108-97.

Utah has been very good at home with a perfect 5-0 record in Salt Lake City. The Jazz average 101.6 ppg in their own building and will look for some revenge after the Nuggets clobbered them in Denver on Nov. 9, 104-84.

Jamaal Tinsley is expected to start at the point for the Jazz again on Monday. Starter Mo Williams injured his foot on Friday against the Kings and played less than eight minutes. Williams didn't play on Saturday. Tinsley did admirably on Saturday with 14 points on 4-for-6 3-point shooting and seven assists.

After a few games coming off the bench, Marvin Williams returned to the starting lineup in the first game against the Kings and average 14.0 ppg. Derrick Favors lost his starting job, but Randy Foye is still the starting shooting guard. Gordon Hayward hasn't been too impacted by his demotion. He's averaging 15.2 ppg as a reserve.

The Jazz are fourth in the league in rebounding and second in offensive rebounding. Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap both rank in the top 10 in double- doubles this season.

Denver may have won earlier this season, but the Nuggets are 3-10 in their last 13 in Utah.
