Robert Covington scored 29 points and pulled down 14 rebounds to lead Tennessee State to a 92-53 win over NAIA opponent Fisk on Monday night.

Covington made 10 of 14 shots while Kellen Thornton made 11 of 13 en route to 22 points for the Tigers. Jordan Cyphers came off the bench for 14 points, as Tennessee State's bench outscored Fisk's 29-13.

Tennessee State (2-5) held Fisk to 20 percent (6 of 30) in the first half and led 39-20 at the break. The Tigers shot 68 percent (17 of 25) in the second half to pull away.

The Tigers outrebounded Fisk 45-28 and outscored the Bulldogs 48-28 in the paint.

Fisk (1-4), led by Rashad Williams' 15 points and Darrell Miller's 14, had 21 turnovers as a team and committed 20 fouls.

Tennessee State scored 24 points off those turnovers and knocked down 22 of 27 free throws.
