Mets bring back Byrdak

The New York Mets have agreed to terms with left-handed reliever Tim Byrdak on a minor league contract.

The 39-year-old has spent the past two seasons with the Mets. In 2012, he appeared in 56 games and pitched to a 2-2 record with a 4.40 ERA before tearing the anterior capsule in his left shoulder in early August, ending his campaign.

In 11 seasons, Byrdak has pitched in 471 games, logging 335 innings while compiling a 13-13 record and a 4.30 ERA.
