Eindhoven, Netherlands – Bonno Wilfried's goal in the 74th minute was the difference as Vitesse claimed a 2-1 win at PSV Eindhoven to move to within two points of the league leaders.
PSV had won 11 of its first 13 games to claim the top spot in the Eredivisie, and the home side looked to be a good bet to collect three more points on Sunday after Timothy Derijck put them in front five minutes into the match.
However, Jonathan Reis equalized 10 minutes later for Vitesse, and Wilfried fired home the winning goal with a little more than 15 minutes to play, taking his league-leading tally to 15 on the campaign.
PSV's defeat meant that Twente could join the club at the top of the league with a home win over Zwolle, but a stoppage-time equalizer from Luc Castaignos was required just for Twente to earn a 2-2 draw.
Zwolle took a 2-1 lead after Joey van der Berg's 88th-minute goal, but Castaignos scored two minutes into stoppage time to edge Twente to within two points of PSV.
Ajax needed a rally in the final 10 minutes of its 2-1 victory at Roda as goals from Christian Eriksen and Lasse Schone were required to overturn a first-half tally from Roda's Guus Hupperts, while Feyenoord secured a 2-0 triumph at AZ Alkmaar with second-half goals from Tonny Vilhena and Ruben Schaken.
