Walter Offutt led four double-digit scorers with 16 points and Ohio leapt to its first 5-0 start since 1969-70 as it downed Richmond 73-48 Saturday in a nonconference affair.

Ohio trailed 38-34 with 16:12 left, but went on a 19-4 run and extended the lead wide enough to sit most of its starters for the final three minutes.

Offutt made his points on 5-of-11 shooting, plus 5 of 6 from the foul line. D.J. Cooper scored 14 points, including 12 points and three 3-point makes in the second half, while Jon Smith had 13 and Nick Kellogg had 12.

The team's other starter, Ivo Baltic, had seven points and a game-high nine rebounds, helping Ohio take a 36-26 advantage on the boards.

Derrick Williams led Richmond (4-2) with 17 points, 14 of which came in the first half.

The win was the Bobcats' 14th consecutive victory at home.
