Offensive rebounding advantage, turnovers propel Radford to 74-61 victory over The Citadel

Ya Ya Anderson scored 13 points to lead four double-figure scorers as Radford defeated The Citadel 74-61 on Saturday.

Blake Smith had 12 points, R.J. Price 11 and Kyle Noreen 10 for the Highlanders (4-3).

Ashton Moore led the Bulldogs (3-2) with 12 points, and Mike Groselle, Marshall Harris III and Matt Van Scyoc had 10 apiece, with Groselle grabbing nine rebounds in the first meeting of the schools.

Radford built a 40-18 lead at the 4:05 mark of the first half. The Highlanders had 15 offensive rebounds, leading to a 13-0 advantage in second-chance points in the half, and forced 15 turnovers that led to a 23-2 edge in points off turnovers.

From the Highlanders' 49-31 advantage on Anderson's layup 6:02 into the second half, the Bulldogs closed to 49-43 on two free throws by Harris, but Price and Noreen made layups, and the Highlanders pulled away.
